The Community Forum on Common Core presented a compendium of ideas, facts and comparisons for parents and teachers who want to decide for themselves if the nationalized Common Core K-12 standards adopted by the state; but only minimally implemented, are a better alternative to the current California standards.

Bring balance to school board

Thousand Oaks Acorn
September 20, 2012

I will vote for Tony Dolz for school board because I think the board is politically biased.

According to Julia Brownley’s website, Nancy Pelosi and both school board incumbents running for reelection, Peggy Buckles and Betsy Connolly, have endorsed the liberal Democrat for Congress.

Superintendent Jeff Baarstad endorsed liberal Democrat Steve Bennett for Congress earlier this year (before Bennett dropped out of the race).

You dance with the one who brought you to the party.

The school board is dancing with the agenda of the …

Dolz for CVUSD board

Ventura County Star
September 17, 2012

I am voting for Tony Dolz for the school board. He cannot be more clear. He wants parents to play the commanding role in their own children’s education. Mr. Dolz has children in our schools, the incumbents don’t.

Mr. Dolz is involved day after day with his children and the teachers who serve the community. On the other hand, the incumbents without children in our schools, rely on second-hand and outdated information.

Being a responsible parent is appropriate and good and the proper …

Candidate lays out platform

Thousand Oaks Acorn

Dolz speaks for the children

Thank you, Tony Dolz, for caring about the children and curriculum in our local schools. “The Kite Runner” should not be reading material for the public school system.

It is the parents’ responsibility to give their children a moral compass by which to run their lives. How can they turn over this most important life lesson to strangers?

Mr. Dolz—you have my vote because you understand how precious our children are and how quickly their young years go.

All through school they should learn …

Three will vie for two seats on school board

Challenger says he decided to run after trustees approved ‘Kite Runner’

Tony Dolz

A local parent upset with the school board over a 12th-grade reading selection will look to unseat one of two incumbents in the race for the Conejo Valley Unified School District Board of Education this fall.

Tony Dolz, whose two children attend Weathersfield Elementary in Thousand Oaks, joins incumbents Betsy Connolly and Peggy Buckles in vying for two seats on the school board, a five-person panel that governs a …
