The Community Forum on Common Core presented a compendium of ideas, facts and comparisons for parents and teachers who want to decide for themselves if the nationalized Common Core K-12 standards adopted by the state; but only minimally implemented, are a better alternative to the current California standards.

Conejo Valley Unified School District school board candidate Tony Dolz spends some time with his daughter, Sienna, 7, at Conejo Community Park on Oct. 9. Dolz is seeking a seat on the CVUSD Board of Education.

Dolz’s education plan

I  recently heard Tony Dolz (candidate for Conejo Valley school board) speak about his plan to prevent cuts to education and prevent up to 35 teachers from losing their jobs.

Dolz for CVUSD board

Mr. Dolz is involved day after day with his children and the teachers who serve the community. On the other hand, the incumbents without children in our schools, rely on second-hand and outdated information.

Being a responsible parent is appropriate and good and the proper …
